i) Play back the animation. You should now have a real time 5 second countdown.

3) Remember to save your project frequently. Click Command S. Make sure it says timing and not squash in the naming field.

4) Create a Flame Loop Cycle

a) Now  go back to frame 1 and select the (blank) top foreground layer. Also make sure that the "show/hide previous frame" feature is turned on.
b) Draw a flame (red, yellow, orange) at the top of the wick. Select it & Group it.
c) Click on frame 2 in the foreground layer and draw a slightly different colored flame directly over the flame from frame 1. Select it & Group it.
d) Click on frame 3 in the foreground layer and draw a slightly different flame over the flame from frame 2. Select it and Group it.
e) Highlight frames 1- 3 (your flickering flame cycle) in the foreground layer and duplicate them all the way to frame 60 using the duplicate page button.

f) Play it back. You should know see a stationary flickering flame at the top of the wick for 5 seconds.

5) Animating the flame down the wick.
 a) Go back to frame 2 in the foreground (top) and slowly move the flame down bit by bit. Continue this process with the remaining frames making sure the timing fits the 5 second countdown. Use very small movements! You should be at the halfway point with about 2 1/2 seconds left.

6) Erasing the wick.
a) Finally, go back to the bottom (background layer) and frame by frame, erase any wick that starts to stick out all the way down using the eraser tool.

7)  In the end, you can have the bomb either blow up or turn into something else at the end of the countdown. That option is up to you. Feel free to be creative. You will need to add more frames at the end depending on what you choose to do. You may also use an image from the image library. Simply select a drawing, drag it to your canvas, and resize as needed.

If you get an image from the internet: 1) Save your image to the desktop. 2) In Flip Boom, click on the "import image" icon. 3) In the import screen, navigate to the desktop and select the image. 4) Click "open". 5) Resize/Reposition the image as needed using the select tool.

8) When finished, click the popcorn button to publish (export) it to the movies folder. Choose the blue "Quicktime" Q cup.
