example: R1P2 Lincolna Timing

2) Create A Countdown Box, Bomb and Bomb Wick in the Background (Bottom) Layer.
A) Select the bottom (background) layer of Frame 1.

3) Create a 5 Second Countdown Inside Of The Countdown Box.

A) Click on the text tool.
B) Choose a color that is different than the color of your box (use an easy to read contrasting color).
C) Change the font to "Arial Black" and increase the font size to "80".
D) Click & type in the number 5 in the middle of the box. (You can reposition the text by grabbing the edges of the text box)
E) Using the Duplicate Page tool, duplicate the frame 12 more times (13 total) and in frame 13, change the number to 4.
F) Duplicate frame 13 12 more times (25 total) and in frame 25 change the number to 3.
Continue this 12 frames per second process until you reach 0 (Frame 61)
G) Play back the animation. You should now see a real 5 second countdown.

4) Create A Flame "Loop Cycle" In the TOP Layer.
A) Go back to frame 1 and select the blank top foreground layer.
B) Make sure that the "show hide previous/next frame tool is activated.
c) Draw a red/orange/yellow flame at the top of the wick.
d) Select all of the flame and group it.
e) Click on Frame 2 in the blank top foreground layer and draw another flame, slightly different than the first one.
f) Select it and group it.
g) Click on frame 3  in the foreground top layer and draw one more flame, slightly different than the first two.
h) Select it and group it.
i) Highlight frames 1-3 in the top foreground layer and use the duplicate page icon to duplicate the sequence 19 more times until you reach frame 60.
j) Now play it back, you should have a 5 second countdown with a constant flickering flame at the top of the wick.

5) Animating the flame down the wick.
a) Go back to frame 2 in the foreground (top) layer and move the flame downward a tiny bit.
b) Next, click on frame 3 and move the wick down a tiny bit again. Keep repeating this until the flame reaches the bomb at frame 60.

Tips: Use VERY small movements. You should be at the halfway point at frame 30.

Make sure the "show/hide previous next frame" tool is selected!

6) Erase the wick.

a) To erase the wick, go back to the bottom layer of frame 2.
b) Use the eraser tool to erase any black wick that starts to stick out as you move forward frame by frame.

7) 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Boom! Make something happen!

At this point, it is up to you to make something happen. Your bomb can explode or be replaced with another graphic or image. See the video to use something from the image library.

(example: R1P7 lincolna timing Export .mov)
D) Save it to the Desktop

*You are finished for now. You should see all three animation principles on your desktop.  We will be adding audio/sound effects later using iMovie.
